2025 marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for The City Library and the communities it serves. With the launch of the Salt Lake City Library Foundation under the leadership of Chief Development Officer and Executive Director, Jessica Sweeney, the Library is poised to expand and amplify its impact like never before.

The Friends of The City Library, long recognized as the Library’s dedicated fundraising partner for more than six decades, will continue their important work as a program within the Foundation. With their ever-popular used book sales and the Library Store at the Main Library, the Friends will remain a cornerstone of community support, now integrated into a broader effort to sustain and grow the Library’s essential services for generations to come.
