SLC Library Foundation Speaker Series

What to Expect

Some of the best conversations happen when great authors meet curious readers. The Library Foundation Speaker Series brings that magic to life, connecting Salt Lake City with nationally recognized writers for free, open-to-the-public evenings that spark ideas, inspire dialogue, and bring our community together.

Each event features an engaging conversation with a leading author, followed by audience Q&A and a special reception for our generous supporters. From narrative history to investigative journalism, our speakers represent some of the most compelling storytelling voices of our time.

The Speaker Series is a signature program of the Salt Lake City Library Foundation, independently produced and funded through the generosity of individual donors and community partners. Every event is free and open to all, because we believe extraordinary cultural experiences should be available to everyone.

2026 Series Our inaugural event in April 2026 welcomed acclaimed author David Grann to a fully reserved house of 350+ community members, and we're just getting started.

❋ Intentional Structure

We blend guided moments, open exploration, and space to reflect,so the experience feels both focused and fluid.

❋ Collaborative Energy

Connection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn just as much from the group as from the content itself.

❋ A Supportive Space

Our events prioritize comfort, safety, and respect,so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.

Libraries are our third space and allow for the community to connect.
